FAQ

Can I use Mileage Mate with gasoline and diesel?

It can be used safely with all types of fuel and importantly cannot be over dosed. In fact in petrol engines we recommend a first dose of 2,000:1 with the first tank full thereafter reducing to the regular 4,000:1

How quickly does Mileage Mate FCC work?

Noticeable results will be apparent in the first month of use. But firstly especially in large bulk storage/ handling facility an inspection will need to be carried out. The degree of fungal infection assessed along with the amount of water.

Then ideally water content in the bulk fuel should be drained as far as possible, it is not always physically possible to drain all the water and sludge but this will not be an issue as FCC will quickly work through the remainder so treatment can proceed using FCC at the economical rate of 1:4000.

There are lots of makes of additives on the market, how is Mileage Mate FCC different?
First, Mileage Mate FCC is a conditioner (or reconditioner) of fuel, rather than many of the additives available which in many instances are “combustion enhancers”.

It is also not a toxic biocide.

What is the dose rate for Mileage Mate?

Normally 1 Liter FCC: 4000 Liters Of Fuel. However, if contamination is heavy the initial dose rate may need increasing. We always recommend a double dose on first application, or when fuel is to be left unused for long periods, for example over the winter months.

How much would I save with Mileage Mate?

Your fuel bill will reduce by between 3 and 11%. Even at just a 3% saving this fuel saving is much greater than the cost of FCC so you will actually have money left in your pocket.

On top of this will be all the money saved we described in the answer above

As an indication, we can confidently state that indirectly and over say a 12 months period you will be able to quantify savings related to servicing, downtime, spare parts, fuel tank maintenance, not forgetting a reduced environmental impact.

These savings will be measurable on all engines from reading the records, the amount saved will vary from engine to engine, but the cumulative net result will demonstrate that FCC will have reduced expenditure in these sectors that is greater than that saved in fuel costs.

Why do we need conditioners at all?

You may not know but all Fuel (both diesel and petrol) for a number of reasons start to break down or degrade once they leave the refinery. Water accumulation is invariably the catalyst that initialises degradation FCC has been formulated to ensure that the fuel remains or is restored to the original condition.

It does this by making sure any water that enters the fuel system is adsorbed into the fuel and passes through the fuel system to exhaust. It makes sure the fuel does not separate, in this condition the fuel fungi and bacteria cannot grow.
Bulk storage tanks even last longer as there is not water to create sulphuric acid to corrode the tanks All the combustion engines in your company for example were designed and tested in their factories using First grade fuel.

Unfortunately the real world does not have Quality fuel regularly available.

All engines therefore end up operating below their optimum, they exhaust black smoke from an incomplete combustion, more maintenance is required filters become clogged more often. All this means more toxic emissions and more unnecessary money spent on fuel and spares.

Regular injection of FCC into every delivery will ensure your equipment operates at factory specifications.

Will Mileage Mate FCC void my engine warranty?

No – for a manufacturer to void a warranty they must prove that Mileage Mate FCC caused damage. This is impossible as Mileage Mate FCC’s ingredients are harmless to an engine and its fuel/combustion system. Since 1991 when the product was launched in Europe, no claims of any type have been received.
